  Acupuncture, as a part of Chinese medicine, is best known for its high effectiveness in managing pain, from speeding the healing time of injuries to reducing pain and increasing mobility for people with chronic pain conditions such as arthritis. It can be used to treat many of the medical problems that you consult your doctor for, from menstrual irregularities to depression to stroke rehabilitation. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a partial list of disorders can be successfully treated by acupuncture:    
   
Respiratory disorders:
Common cold, asthma, bronchitis, hay fever, cough, painful respiration and nosebleed
Skin Disorders:
Acne, eczema, psoriasis and painful scars
Gastrointestinal disorders:
Hyperacidity, nausea and vomiting, heartburn, reflux, abdominal pain, gastritis, colitis, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, spastic colon, diarrheal and diarrhoea, haemorrhoids

Miscellaneous:
Obesity, smoking and drug addictions, allergies such as allergic rhinitis, weight control, adverse reactions to radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy, and better immune function
